Hartford Area Fire & Rescue
Hartford Area Fire & Rescue was formed in 1902 for the purpose of establishing
a fire department for the City of Hartford. In 1983 the department expanded
its offering to the community by providing first responder medical
services. Our primary response area is 108 square miles and includes all of
Hartford and Wall Lake townships as well as portions of Benton, Clear Lake,
Grand Meadow, Humboldt, Wellington townships in Minnehaha County and
Home Township in Turner County. The department responds to calls for all
types of fires, motor vehicle accidents and medical emergencies. The members
of Hartford Area Fire & Rescue are one big family. We work, train & respond
to calls together and we still find down time to enjoy time with members
and their families with fun activities.
Mission Statement:
